27 – Cameras Working

Lucky arrived home after discovering the new office space for VACE and chowing down on some pizza with everyone. She believed the meeting had gone really well. While they still needed furnishings and equipment to fill the space, everyone agreed that would come with time. They would bring items from home and make it work until the nonprofit could spare the expense.

Sonya handed out keys to Lucky and Ric and gave them codes for security. She also took the meeting notes which Haley had shown her how to do with the help of a video recommended by the attorney’s office that incorporated the nonprofit. Lucky was impressed by how they were both doing everything right and moving things along quickly.

The agenda for this meeting had been focused first on fund raising efforts. After that, they went over expenditures for items that were needed immediately, and those they would need in the near and long term.

The next part of the meeting was Ric presenting everything he had uncovered to date at Chadwell and it was turning out to be quite a bit of material. Once they pieced it all together, it did not look favorable for Chadwell and others in regard to the current P19 viral outbreak. Two surprising elements were this mysterious coworker who he had sworn not to identify unless that person approved him doing so. But he did share the tip he was given to try and find the audio files of the board meetings.

The other surprise was Tellinger planning to fire Evan Mitchell. After much discussion, it was decided someone should leak this information to Evan. That way, it might serve as a catalyst for him to change sides and possibly turn on the pharmaceutical organization. It was a long shot, but rather than do nothing and watch this happen, they would take that chance. It was too risky for Ric to get the information to Evan. He needed to keep his head really low at the company. Lucky volunteered to be the bearer of the bad news.

Haley said she would begin to connect with old coworkers who might help them with initial funding. Small donations were encouraged as much as large ones. She stated that some of her coworkers might shun her for the type of work they were doing. But if they would hear her out, she believed they would understand the purpose is only to look for crimes and wrongdoing.

Ric was going to bring in two computers. They weren’t the latest and greatest but he described them as dependable workhorses that would serve them well for the time being. He would set one up for access to the internet and keep the other one offline.

Before the meeting at the new office this afternoon, Lucky had retrieved a ladder from the garage and installed security cameras on the outside of the carriage house. She had finished in a hurry with the meeting looming over her. The cameras needed some adjustment. Some of that she could do right from her phone, such as adjusting the video sensitivity.
